Access Team

Our Access Team provide free assessments 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This is an opportunity to explore any behavioral health or substance abuse issues that may be troubling you or a loved one. Based on the information that you share during the assessment, our trained professional staff will make a recommendation for treatment to meet your needs.

Our Access Team responds to psychiatric emergencies at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institutes Emergency Department. So, you can also receive a Behavioral Health assessment in our Emergency Room. During your visit you will also receive a medical exam to determine if you need medical attention. Your visit will start your road to recovery.

Inpatient Services

Located in a freestanding building approximately 3 blocks from the main campus, our 24 bed Inpatient Adult unit offers a comprehensive, short term stay, psychiatric services. This is a safe, supportive, therapeutic environment where your psychiatric needs are assessed. Your treatment is provided through a wide range of interventions that include crisis stabilization, daily sessions with your Psychiatrist, individual and group therapy sessions, family therapy sessions, education courses, and medication management. Your Treatment is tailored to focus on your individual needs which will assist you towards restoring your mental health and sense of well being.

If you are suffering with chemical dependency issues we provide a Dual Diagnosis Tract which is a specialized program for the treatment of substance abuse. You will receive a safe and comfortable detoxification that is supervised by your physicians and start your recovery process. Your Social Worker and addictions counselor will provide you with all the resources you will need to continue the work you started during your hospitalization. Your commitment to treatment is a brave and powerful first step to a life of recovery.

Creative Challenge Course (ROPES)

Grounded In The Concepts first explored in the outdoor survival programs, Lawnwood’s Beahvioral Healthcare Creative Challenge Course, “ROPES”, is designed to broaden the boundaries of success. The Creative Challenge Course is a powerful, action-oriented growth experience developed to foster teamwork, confidence, communication and self-discovery. Your certified Challenge Course facilitators will guide you every step of the way.

The Creative Challenge Course experience at Lawnwood can be adapted to anyone’s capabilities and tailored to meet different objectives. The course is located on Lawnwood Regional Medical Center‘s Behavioral Health campus on a wooded site encompassing beams, ladders, tires, intersected with climbing ropes and cables and highlighted by an imposing 30 foot high climbing wall. Events operate on the principle of “perceived risk” with many safety precautions taken, including the use of mountain climbing gear and belay systems. Local businesses, schools, agencies, group homes, and treatment facilities participate in a series of carefully, and individually, structured physical and intellectual challenges resulting in new insight into unknown strengths, problem solving skills, creativity, cooperation, and leadership. It is the experience of a life time.
